Now this really is awesome. Mike Skinner, the man behind UK garage-rap sensations The Streets has taken to posting new songs online, and announcing them via his Twitter account http://twitter.com/skinnermike). Now this is what we call a mashup! Seth Grahame-Smith has taken arguably the greatest work of English fiction, Pride and Prejudice, and added a massive dose of insane ultraviolent zombie mayhem. The resulting work, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, is bound to divide readers, and upset the purists, but for those who are able to laugh at the absurdity of it all, it may well become a favourite.
We’ve just finished reading it here in the PrettyAwesome office, and despite some laughably bad writing from Seth Grahame-Smith, it is an enjoyable if somewhat ridiculous parody which is just about self-deprecating enough to get away with it.

The honour (honor, for the Americans!) of the very first post on our shiny new blog o’awesomeness goes to the funny chaps over at XKCD, for their synergisation (yeah, synergisation, you got a problem with that?) of two of the biggest newsgrabbers this year – Twitter, and Swine Flu. Rock!
